Uppsala University invites a postdoctoral candidate to jointly prepare a research proposal on Energy-Aware Computing for CERN’s Future Circular Collider. Candidates with a background in HPC, scientific computing, numerical algorithms, GPU programming, or computational high-energy physics are especially welcome.

  • Strong foundation in C/C++ and parallel computing paradigms.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate to shape and prepare an Energy-Aware Computing research proposal for CERN’s FCC.
  • Contribute to exploring mixed precision, data reduction, and energy-to-solution optimization.
  • Engage with the research team to define scope and approach for the proposal.

Job description

We are looking for a postdoctoral candidate to jointly prepare a research proposal on Energy-Aware Computing for CERN’s Future Circular Collider.

The project will explore mixed precision, data reduction/compression, heterogeneous CPU/GPU computing, and energy-to-solution optimization for representative FCC workloads.

Candidates with a background in HPC, scientific computing, numerical algorithms, GPU programming, or computational high-energy physics are especially welcome.

At this stage, we are looking for a candidate who is interested in shaping and preparing the proposal together. For a note, the proposal is already written.
