Job summary

SLU Umeå in Sweden invites applications for a postdoctoral researcher to develop environmental DNA (eDNA) methods for early detection of forest pathogens. You will bridge molecular biology, field studies, and data analysis to improve forest health monitoring and preparedness.

The project involves collaboration with industry partners and universities, use of filters from forest machines, GPS/time data mapping, and development of new sampling technologies.

Qualifications

• PhD in molecular biology, microbiology, biotechnology, ecology, bioinformatics or related fields within the last 3 years.
• Experience with DNA-based analytical methods (qPCR, sequencing, metabarcoding, or eDNA).
• Experience with air sampling, field studies, pathogen detection, or bioinformatic analysis.
