The Division of Dynamics at Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg invites applications for a two-year postdoctoral position in Hybrid Asset Management for railways. The project is part of CHARMEC, the National Centre of Excellence in Railway Mechanics.

The successful candidate will combine physical simulations with data-driven analyses, supervise students, publish in journals, and may teach at undergraduate or graduate levels.

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree in Mechanical engineering or equivalent.
• Experience predicting mechanical deterioration using statistics and/or AI/ML methods.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

Responsabilités

• Conduct research on hybrid asset management for railways.
• Publish in international journals and present at conferences.
• Possibly supervise Master’s/PhD students and engage in teaching at undergraduate/masters level.
