Job summary

Karolinska Institutet seeks a Postdoctoral Researcher to investigate how human adipose stem and progenitor cells influence tissue development. The role combines human cell models, transplantation, and single-cell/spatial profiling to reveal how ASPC identities shape adipose formation in vivo.

The candidate will design experiments, use FACS, lineage tracing, and spatial transcriptomics, and collaborate closely with a bioinformatician to interpret data. Strong English communication is essential.

Qualifications

  • PhD or foreign degree equivalent to Swedish PhD accepted.
  • Experience with human adipose tissue biology or metabolic research is welcome but not required.
  • Strong background in experimental cell biology and stem cell biology.
  • Hands-on experience with mammalian cell culture and molecular techniques essential.
  • Proficiency in English for collaboration and writing.
  • Experience with lineage tracing or transplantation is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Design, perform, and troubleshoot experiments independently.
  • Lead experimental planning and data generation.
  • Collaborate with bioinformatics colleagues for single-cell and spatial analyses.
  • Validate findings with immunostaining and microscopy.
  • Contribute to the development of methods and interpretation of results.
