We are looking for a postdoc to join our team at the Division of Energy Technology, Department of Environmental and Energy Sciences. Become part of our group and contribute to the transition to sustainable energy systems.
The postdoc position on offer will join a team of senior researchers, postdocs and PhD students dedicated to research with the aim of identifying and evaluating different pathways toward sustainable energy systems. The Division of Energy Technology has extensive experience in the field of energy systems analysis and model methodology development. A focus of the research is to understand the challenges and opportunities of integrating renewable energy sources and electrification of new sectors at different geographical levels. The group participates in several large research projects such as Mistra Electrification and North European Power Perspective. The group has close collaborations with industries, cities, municipalities, regions, and other stakeholders.
The overall aim of the postdoc project is to investigate the role of hydrogen as an energy carrier in the energy transition. This includes integrating hydrogen demand, production, distribution and storage into an existing model of the Nordic energy system with high geographical resolution. In particular, it is of interest to understand the value of hydrogen infrastructure on different geographical levels and its interaction with the electricity system. While the research within the position relies on techno-economic modeling, it is carried out in an interdisciplinary EU project (https://h2valley.se/), and it is part of the position to share and combine research results with social scientists and legal researchers.
The position is meritorious for future roles in academia, industry, or the public sector.
The position is a temporary full-time employment for two years with the possibility of a one-year extension. The position requires physical presence throughout the entire employment. A valid residence permit must be presented by the start date, otherwise the offer may be withdrawn.
