Job summary

LHH seeks a Plant Manager to lead a Sweden manufacturing site with ~300 employees. The role blends hands-on shop-floor leadership with strategic cross-functional oversight across Production, EHS, Quality, Supply Chain, Finance and HR.

The successful candidate will drive continuous improvement, Lean initiatives, and operational excellence, while guiding capacity planning, inventory reduction, and KPI-based performance. Relocation to Sweden is considered for experienced leaders.

Qualifications

  • Experience managing a manufacturing operation and leading teams.
  • Experience in heavy manufacturing environments such as powders, foundries, or casting.
  • Proven track record of improving operational performance and CI initiatives.
  • Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and structured problem solving.
  • Experience with KPIs and performance management.
  • Understanding of production planning, supply chain and capacity management.
  • Hands-on, shop-floor leader with ability to drive change.
  • Experience working with unions and employee representatives.

Responsibilities

  • Take overall responsibility for day-to-day operation and performance of the plant, including safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and cost.
  • Coordinate manufacturing with supply chain, production planning, logistics, and warehousing.
  • Establish clear KPIs and regular performance follow-up.
  • Drive Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement activities across the site.
  • Improve production planning and scheduling to respond to changing customer requirements.
  • Reduce inventory, improve material flow, and increase end-to-end supply chain efficiency.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce lead times and simplify processes.
  • Collaborate with Finance on cost control, forecasting, and monitoring of operational performance.
  • Lead and develop the plant management team, creating a collaborative and performance-oriented environment.
  • Share best practices with other sites to improve coordination of production and supply chain activities.
  • Support implementation of new processes, systems, and operating standards across the plant.
  • Communicate effectively with employees and stakeholders during change and improvement periods.
  • Maintain positive relationships with unions and employee representatives.
