We are establishing a new Manager role within the Global Center of Competence for Power Quality function in Västerås, created to strengthen project governance, planning, and execution across complex engineering projects. This is a unique opportunity to shape a new function, define ways of working, and have a significant impact from day one.
In this role, you will take overall responsibility for project planning, scheduling, and project control activities across a portfolio of projects.
You will build and lead the project controls capability, ensure robust standards and methodologies, and act as a key partner to project stakeholders.
The position combines strategic leadership with hands‑on involvement, covering the full project lifecycle—from early planning and execution through commissioning and project close‑out. As a manager, you will play a central role in driving predictability, performance, and continuous improvement across the project portfolio.
This role is well suited for a leader who enjoys building structure, guiding teams, and working cross‑functionally in a dynamic, growing organization.
How you’ll make an impact:
- Establish and lead the project controls and planning capability within Global Center of Competence for Power Quality, setting standards, structure, and clear ways of working across the project portfolio.
- Drive robust project planning, scheduling, and performance tracking, ensuring predictable delivery, early risk identification, and timely corrective actions.
- Act as a key partner to project teams, supporting decision‑making related to scope, cost, schedule, and resource planning.
- Build and maintain strong collaboration with internal stakeholders and external partners, ensuring plans are realistic, aligned, and executable.
- Lead and develop the project controls team, strengthening competencies, ownership, and continuous improvement through coaching and clear accountability.
- Ensure projects follow governance, contract compliance, and close‑out practices, while capturing lessons learned to continuously improve future project execution.
Your background:
- A degree in Engineering, Project Management, Business, or a related field, with solid understanding of project execution in complex engineering environments.
- Several years of experience within project controls, planning, scheduling, or project management, preferably in engineering, industrial, or large‑scale project organizations.li>
- Proven experience in leading teams or functions, with the ability to build structure, set direction, and develop people in a performance‑driven environment.
- Strong knowledge of project planning methodologies, performance tracking, and governance, including cost, schedule, risk, and resource management.
- Experience working in cross‑functional and international settings, collaborating with project managers, engineers, contractors, and senior stakeholders.
- A structured, proactive, and communicative leadership style, with the ability to drive continuous improvement, challenge ways of working, and create clarity in complex situations.
