Job description

PLANNING AND SCHEDULING LEAD (CONSULTANT)

Location: Boden, SE

Roster: M-F, 40 hours per week

Start Date: ASAP

End Date: 12 months, renewable contract with possibility of extension

Project: Boden - 6 billion EUR green steel project site

We are on a mission to disrupt the global steel industry by producing green steel, with the end goal of bringing down CO2 emissions to zero. Our green steel production in Boden will be powered by one of the world’s largest green hydrogen plants, running on renewable electricity. Instead of emitting large amounts of CO2, as in traditional steelmaking processes, our primary emission will be water. By 2030, our ambition is to produce 5 million tonnes of green steel annually in our fully integrated, digitalized, and sustainable plant in Boden, located in northern Sweden – currently in construction phase. The facility will impact, and shape, the surroundings as well as the perception of Boden, with the aim that it will be seen as a symbol for the much-needed green transition of heavy industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the Owner’s focal point for planning and scheduling within the assigned area; review, challenge, and assure EPCM and contractor schedules for quality, completeness, logic integrity, and compliance with project standards.
  • Conduct schedule health checks and ensure adherence to planning and scheduling best practices.
  • Verify that planning assumptions, interfaces, constraints, and execution strategies are accurately reflected in area schedules.
  • Ensure progress measurement and reporting are implemented consistently across the assigned area.
  • Develop, maintain, and manage the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) for the assigned area.
  • Integrate EPCM, contractor, and stakeholder schedules into the area schedule.
  • Ensure alignment between area schedules and overall project milestones and objectives.
  • Maintain schedule logic, dependencies, interfaces, and critical milestones relevant to the assigned area.
  • Perform schedule updates, analysis, and forecasting based on actual site progress and emerging risks.
  • Work closely with construction, engineering, commissioning, and contractor teams to validate progress and schedule performance.
  • Participate in site reviews, coordination meetings, and planning workshops.
  • Identify schedule risks, constraints, and opportunities and support the development of mitigation and recovery plans.
  • Ensure reported progress accurately reflects physical progress achieved in the field.
Education and Certifications
  • Relevant degree in engineering, construction management, or related field.
  • All relevant certificates that are needed to do the job.
  • Option to include area-specific requirements.
Experience
  • Experience in project planning and scheduling within large-scale industrial or infrastructure projects.
  • Experience managing integrated schedules and working within complex, multi-disciplinary project environments.
Competences and Skills
  • Strong knowledge of planning and scheduling methodologies and tools.
  • Experience with Integrated Master Scheduling (IMS).
