Job summary

Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg is recruiting a Doctoral student to advance battery fabrication through 3D printing and additive manufacturing. You will join a research team encompassing materials science, mechanical engineering, and AI to push design freedom, performance, and sustainable production.

The position is fully funded, with a starting salary of 35,725 SEK per month from May 1, 2026, and may include teaching up to 20% of time.

Qualifications

• Master's degree (120 credits) in materials science, mechanical engineering, or related fields; alternatively 60 credits magisterexamen.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Experience (one of the following) in metal and ceramic additive manufacturing, battery electrode processing, slurry preparation, or 3D printing.

Responsibilities

• Take courses at an advanced level within the Graduate school of Materials Science.
• Work with the described research project on battery fabrication and additive manufacturing.
• Develop scientific concepts and communicate results verbally and in writing.
• Teach at the undergraduate level up to 20% of working hours as part of duties.
