Job summary

SLU in Uppsala invites applications for a PhD student to advance understanding of contaminants of emerging concern in food chains, focusing on bioaccumulation, trophic transfer, and advanced chemical screening.

You will develop analytical workflows for detection and identification of known and unknown compounds in complex matrices, including sample prep, extraction and HRMS data analysis. Interdisciplinary teamwork and scientific manuscript writing in English are required.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Master’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
• Knowledge of aquatic ecology, biogeochemistry, statistics, or ecotoxicology is required.
• English language proficiency equivalent to Engelska B/6.

Responsibilities

• Develop and apply analytical workflows for target/non-target screening.
• Conduct semi-quantitative analysis and assess bioaccumulation and trophic transfer.
• Process HRMS datasets and perform statistical evaluation.
• Collaborate with national and international partners; contribute to manuscript writing in English.
