Job summary

Karo Healthcare in Stockholm is seeking a Packaging Compliance Specialist to own packaging regulatory activities in a fast-moving, international environment. You will translate PPWR and EU packaging laws into practical requirements and drive their implementation across existing and new products.

In this role you will work with suppliers and cross-functional teams to ensure accurate documentation, data quality and reporting readiness, balancing regulatory needs with cost, quality and supply

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Packaging Technology, Environmental Science, Engineering or a related technical field.
  • At least 2 years of experience working with packaging regulation, sustainability compliance or a closely related area.
  • Good understanding of the EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) framework and Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) schemes.
  • Familiarity with packaging materials, manufacturing processes and packaging sustainability principles.

Responsibilities

  • Act as an internal packaging compliance expert, translating PPWR and other relevant EU packaging legislation into clear, actionable business requirements.
  • Drive the implementation of PPWR requirements across existing and new products, including recyclability, post-consumer recycled content (PCR) and packaging minimisation.
  • Balance regulatory requirements with commercial considerations including cost, margin, quality and security of supply.
  • Lead packaging compliance audits and coordinate responses to customer and regulatory authority requests.
  • Create and maintain technical product files, declarations of conformity and supporting compliance documentation.
  • Own the accuracy, completeness, traceability and reporting readiness of packaging compliance data.
  • Monitor Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) data, packaging material composition and substances of concern, supporting reporting and fee optimisation.
  • Assess and document packaging recyclability in line with applicable legislation, standards and regulatory timelines.
  • Work closely with suppliers to secure accurate packaging specifications, technical documentation and compliance information.
  • Collaborate across functions to ensure packaging compliance requirements are understood, prioritised and implemented effectively.
