About The Role

The exact scope will depend on the client and assignment, but your work may involve:

• Developing and evaluating optical concepts and system solutions
• Translating technical needs into optical requirements and specifications
• Performing optical modelling, simulation, and analysis
• Designing and developing lens, imaging, or illumination solutions
• Building and evaluating prototypes
• Planning and performing optical tests and measurements
• Analysing test results and improving optical performance
• Supporting verification and validation activities
• Working closely with colleagues within areas such as mechanics, electronics, software, and systems engineering

Who We Are Looking For

We believe you have:

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Optical Engineering, Photonics, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or another relevant technical field
• At least one year of professional experience within optical engineering, development, design, or testing
• A strong technical interest and an analytical approach to problem-solving
• The ability to understand technical requirements and turn them into practical engineering solutions
• Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate with both technical specialists and other stakeholders
• The ability to take responsibility for your own tasks and drive your work forward
• Professional proficiency in English

Relevant Technical Experience

Depending on your background, experience in one or more of the following areas is valuable:

• Optical modelling and simulation using tools such as Zemax OpticStudio, CODE V, or LightTools
• Engineering and analysis using MATLAB, Python, or COMSOL Multiphysics
• Optomechanical development using SolidWorks, CATIA, or Creo
• Optical measurement and characterization, including interferometry, MTF analysis, beam profiling, or spectrometry
• Working in Agile or Scrum-based development environments

You do not need to have experience with every tool or area listed above. We are interested in candidates with a solid foundation in optical engineering who want to continue developing their expertise through technically challenging assignments.
