Job summary

Hitachi Energy Sweden, Ludvika, is seeking an experienced R&D Quality Engineer to ensure quality excellence across new product introductions and portfolio enhancements. You will work with engineering, manufacturing, supply chain and certification teams to ensure design, validation and release meet internal processes and external standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• Understanding of Quality Management Systems and structured NPI frameworks (Stage-Gate, APQP).
• Knowledge of FMEA, DFM/ DFA, PPAP, RCA and other core quality tools.
• Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt preferred.
• Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional and international teams.
• Proactive, analytical, and solution‑oriented mindset with a passion for continuous improvement.
• Ability to travel internationally is expected in the role.

Responsibilities

• Lead quality execution across NPI projects from concept through product qualification, certification, and release.
• Integrate quality requirements into project planning and embed quality objectives in all development phases.
• Drive proactive quality risk management with CTQ characteristics and QCPs.
• Support audits (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001) and drive closure of corrective actions.
• Lead RCA related to NPI issues, CAPA implementation, and design changes.
• Monitor and improve project quality performance and capture lessons learned.
