Job description

AWS Infrastructure Services (AIS) owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on.

We are looking to hire a Network Technician to join our team within network infrastructure deployment. You will work with minimum supervision in a dynamic environment to drive the expansion of our next-generation networks. You should be highly autonomous, very detail-oriented, possess strong written and verbal communication skills, and have experience supporting large-scale, enterprise-class networks.

Key job responsibilities include:

• Scaling support of several data center locations
• Responsible for day-to-day assistance with capacity management
• Working closely with both internal customers and external vendors to facilitate fast, smooth rollout of established designs and products
• Deliver simple, sustainable, and repeatable solutions and processes
• Manage work and priorities through ticketing system and workflows
• Collaborate with various stakeholders to remove project obstacles
• Troubleshooting cabling infrastructure connectivity issues, including patch panels and patch cords
• Participate in the migration, basic configuration, and rollout of new or upgraded hardware
• Specifying Power and Cooling requirements and ensuring Hardware Racking/Stacking completed for new equipment

Physical requirements include working in a stationary position, with appropriate breaks while maintaining a high level of alertness and attention to detail. Manual handling and lifting of equipment may be required.
