Job summary

LKAB's Mine Planning team in Kiruna is seeking a Mine Planning Engineer to develop and maintain medium- and long-term mining sequences.

You will collaborate with operations, geologists and engineers to optimize plans, analyze data with Deswik and Power BI, and prepare planning reports. The role demands a structured, analytical mindset and strong communication, with a focus on safe, efficient mining practices.

Qualifications

• B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Mining Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience from underground mining operations.
• Experience with Deswik.IS and Deswik.SCHED.
• Good understanding of underground mining methods and sequences.
• Experience with Power BI or similar data analysis tools.
• Fluent English, written and spoken.
• B driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain mining sequences for medium and long-term planning.
• Coordinate and follow up rehabilitation activities with operations.
• Analyze production and planning data to support decision-making.
• Prepare technical reports and planning documentation.
• Collaborate across disciplines to optimize mining plans and processes.
• Be part of a collaborative planning team with direct impact on future production performance.
