Job summary

Kirby Group Engineering is seeking a senior leader to take charge of mechanical and electrical design on high-stakes projects. You will lead multi-region design teams, drive process improvements, and ensure timely, safe, budget-conscious delivery with uncompromising quality.

The role requires strategic leadership beyond checking drawings, building teams, and guiding design across cultures and time zones. You will engage with clients and internal stakeholders to drive project success.

Qualifications

• Strong electrical design engineering background.
• Experience leading design teams on large projects.
• Decisive leadership with ability to guide teams across regions.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and engineering activity on major projects – power, cooling, telecoms, controls.
• Manage teams across Ireland, the UK, and Europe.
• Be the point of contact for construction teams when challenges arise.
• Improve design processes and promote the Kirby Way.
• Recruit, coach and develop engineers for year-on-year improvement.
• Represent design and engineering in tender interviews and kick-off meetings.
