Job Description

This position, as part of the Medical Affairs team, supports intraocular lenses (IOLs) proctoring and Medical Information requests (MIR) to ensure consistent and optimal clinical outcomes. Provides outcomes and sub-optimal results analysis to optimize the use of J&J products, including clinic workflow, patient pre-management, pre & post-operative checks, and all related factors influencing final patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  1. IOLs' case analysis and calculation, focusing on PCIOLs, included in approved J&J Training programs and following IOL Calculation processes.
  2. Manage MIR, providing clinical responses and HCP guidance according to J&J VISION policies, messaging, and processes in a timely manner (<4 days).
  3. Generate MIR statistics reports, including queries and complaints, to supervise product clinical performance in collaboration with related partners (Product Safety, Marketing, R&D, and Commercial).
  4. Assist HCPs with post-operative outcomes analysis, providing optimization and problem-solving support at sites experiencing sub-optimal results.
  5. Provide clinical expert support to external and internal J&J customers, focusing on NPIs (New Product Introduction).
  6. Support demos and clinical studies as required.
Qualifications And Requirements

Minimum education required:

  • Degree in Optometry or similar education in Ophthalmology
  • Min. 5 years of clinical and surgical ophthalmic background

Minimum experience:

  • 2-4 years in practical experience in clinical environments, e.g., ophthalmic surgical centers or hospitals, or managing Cataract patients
  • IOLs subject matter expertise, analytical mindset, high product knowledge, and clinical experience
  • Good presentation and communication skills towards decision makers
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytics skills, service-oriented
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Flexible with management and customer needs regarding work scheduling
  • Training and/or teaching experience preferred
  • Fluent in English and French; other languages (Italian) valued
Position Accountability / Scope
  • Direct report to Associated Director Clinical Services, Medical Affairs
  • No budget responsibility
  • Home-office based with up to 20% travel for congresses, workshops, training, and medical consultations
  • Open to multiple locations within the EMEA region
