Job summary

MilDef in Helsingborg, Sweden, seeks a Mechanical Engineer to join a project team responsible for mechanical solutions and design structures for internal and customer projects. You will create manufacturing drawings, test and verify mechanical designs, and collaborate with other disciplines to ensure robust, manufacturable solutions.

You will lead prototype assembly, perform mechanical validation, manage BOMs, and ensure documentation complies with MilDef's quality standards and PLM processes

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in mechanical engineering or related technical field.
• At least 3 years of experience in a similar role.
• Proven proficiency with CAD tools and design-for-manufacturing principles within production-focused environments.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate in cross-functional teams.
• Fluency in Swedish and English, both spoken and written.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design activities within product development projects, ensuring environmental durability and IP compliance.
• Create and maintain BOMs and technical documentation to support traceable design history and manufacturing.
• Provide mechanical engineering expertise across the development process for robust, manufacturable designs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enable mechanical–electrical co-design.
• Lead prototype assembly, perform mechanical validation testing, and refine designs through troubleshooting.
