Siemens Energy in Finspång seeks a Mechanical Design Manager to lead a design group focused on low-emission combustion systems for gas turbines. You will guide a cross-functional team and shape engineering processes to deliver high-quality documentation.
The role requires strategic leadership, strong communication, and a commitment to developing an inclusive, high-performing team within a growing organization.
Your day as a mechanical design manager will always focus on the continuous development of your team of designers, but it will also involve cross‑functional discussions about our projects, processes, and tools. You will work alongside project managers to pave the way for project members in their work. The daily work as a group manager is highly flexible and needs to be adapted to the team’s needs. A typical day might start with a check‑in with the team to ensure everyone has what they need for their daily tasks. You might then collaborate with one of your interfaces to find a better way of working, followed by a continuous dialogue meeting with a colleague to check in and discuss personal development. After lunch, you might sit down with project managers to discuss resource allocation for upcoming projects before moving on to a discussion with the management team about strategic topics for the next six months.
You will lead the group that designs combustion systems with the goal of low emissions and green fuels as part of a sustainable energy transition.
The team consists of an experienced, harmonious group with six permanent employees and at least as many consultants in Sweden and India. We are in a growth phase and expect to onboard several new employees in the coming years. The group is made up of innovative individuals who believe in low emissions and green fuels. We design world‑class combustion systems for gas turbines.
Employment benefits include reduced working hours, advance vacation, health care allowance, and the possibility for flexible working arrangements.
