Job description

Albert Group is building next-generation maths learning for schools and homes.

We are looking for a senior Mathematics Learning Specialist who combines deep knowledge of how children learn mathematics with experience developing coherent mathematical progressions and content structures.

You will be the team’s principal specialist in mathematical quality and progression. Working closely with our Educational Lead, you will translate mathematics education expertise into product decisions, learning experiences and quality standards. This is a hands‑on role in which you will create content alongside others, establish reference examples and validate work across the wider team.

What you’ll do
  • Develop coherent mathematical progressions by identifying key concepts, dependencies and important transitions.
  • Bring subject expertise on children’s strategies, misconceptions and learning difficulties, including the selection and sequencing of representations.
  • Create and improve learning activities and reference examples, and help establish clear mathematical quality criteria.
  • Review and validate mathematical content, including AI-supported output.
  • Structure mathematical content so that it can be mapped efficiently and accurately to curricula across European markets.
  • Work with Education, Product, Design, Technology and QA to prototype, test and improve learning experiences and content-development workflows.

AI is part of both the product and how the team works. You do not need an engineering background, but you should be comfortable using AI tools and critically evaluating their output. Mathematical and pedagogical judgement remains a human responsibility.

What we’re looking for
  • Deep expertise in mathematics education and a strong understanding of children’s mathematical thinking.
  • Demonstrated experience developing mathematical progressions, curricula or structured bodies of learning content.
  • The ability to translate research and subject expertise into concrete learning experiences and practical product guidance.
  • A hands‑on approach to creating, improving and reviewing content.
  • Strong collaboration skills and comfort working in a small, senior cross‑functional team.

An advanced degree in mathematics education or a closely related field is strongly preferred. Equivalent depth gained through substantial professional practice will also be considered.

Scope and contract

Full-time is preferred, but we are open to a substantial part‑time arrangement of 60–80% for the right candidate. Scope and priorities will be aligned with the agreed level of commitment.

Employment is available for candidates based in Sweden. For candidates in other locations, this is a direct freelance contract +-2 hours CET (no EOR/agency involved).
