Overview

We empower customers to overcome supply chain complexities, reduce costs, and accelerate innovation by producing high-performance tools, fixtures, prototypes, and end-use parts in-house.

As Material Development Engineer you will be part of the wider Engineering function, locally and globally. You will be responsible for process development, optimisation, qualification of materials and consumables. Part of your role will also include analysis and reporting of results on associated activities, in addition to training and support of internal and external machine users and project management.

Responsibilities
  • Follow pertinent laws for MF Sweden and adhere to internal directives and rules concerning occupational health, safety and environment to maintain required permits and compliance.
  • Execute experimental work for components and process development in a thorough and independent manner.
  • Create targets and schedules for activities, technology sprints and projects.
  • Lead material development and qualification activities.
  • Track and report progress and take responsibility to reach agreed targets.
  • Document work and results.
  • Have responsibility and authority to stop work and processes if there is risk to health and safety, non-compliance with work environment requirements, damage to assets, or any other risk.
  • Perform any other duties as reasonably required.
Qualifications
  • University degree in materials engineering, metallurgy or chemistry or equivalent experience.
  • Proven work experience in the relevant field.
  • Knowledge of powder metallurgy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Adaptable with a flexible approach and attitude.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; English language required.
  • Technical capability to produce accurate and technically sound reporting.
  • Experience with Google Suite is advantageous.
Physical Demands / Working Environment
  • Work typically takes place in an office/production environment.
  • Protective clothing may be required for certain tasks.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
Communication / Interface (stakeholders)
  • Responsible for internal and external communications with appropriate stakeholders (internal: MF teams; external: customers and clients).
