Job summary

Johnson & Johnson in Uppsala, Sweden, is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to lead process, equipment, and supplier improvements ensuring compliant, robust operations that support product quality and business growth.

The role involves validating manufacturing processes, working with suppliers on tooling and processes, and contributing to an end-of-life equipment replacement project to enable growth and innovation.

Qualifications

• Fluency in English and Swedish.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in manufacturing or industrial engineering within a regulated industry (Medical Device or Pharmaceutical).
• Understanding of change control and equipment/process validation (URS, FAT, IQ, OQ, PQ, CSV).

Responsibilities

• Serve as technical owner for assigned process areas and supplier-site tooling and equipment; manage upgrades, maintenance and obsolescence mitigation.
• Develop and coordinate technical reviews of material and component specifications with R&D and Quality.
• Work with suppliers to resolve manufacturing issues and assess changes against specifications and quality requirements.
• Lead root cause investigations using structured problem-solving methodologies.
• Plan and implement equipment and process validation activities per GMP, ISO 13485, and FDA 21 CFR Part 820; include CSV where applicable.
• Collaborate with R&D, Quality and Supply Chain on technology transfer and DFMA.
• Foster a culture of innovation, safety, and continuous improvement across manufacturing.
