Job summary

Coherent Sweden is seeking a Maintenance Technician for its wafer fabrication facility in Jarfalla. You will perform preventive and corrective maintenance on Dry Etchers, PECVD, and related equipment, participate in 24/7 shift work, and ensure compliance with EHS standards.

Applicants should have upper secondary technical education or equivalent, with manufacturing experience. Cleanroom maintenance experience is advantageous and a safety-focused, collaborative mindset is essential.

• Experience from manufacturing environments is required.
• Cleanroom work and semiconductor equipment maintenance experience is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance of wafer fabrication equipment (Dry Etchers, PECVD, metallization, photoresist tools).
• Carry out scheduled preventive maintenance, cleaning, parts replacement, and checks per instructions.
• Perform daily inspections and equipment rounds.
• Support Shift Maintenance Engineers and Senior Maintenance Technicians.
• Document maintenance activities and inspection results in the Equipment Log system.
• Maintain spare parts inventory and perform stock counts.
• Collaborate with Operations, Process Engineering, Maintenance, Procurement, Supply Chain, and Wafer Process.
• Participate in 24/7 shift work in the wafer fab cleanroom and service areas.

Job Summary

Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform regular preventive and corrective maintenance of wafer fabrication equipment, primarily including reconditioning and maintenance of Dry Etchers, PECVD systems, metallization deposition equipment, and photoresist tools.
• Carry out scheduled preventive maintenance activities such as cleaning, re-conditioning, replacement of parts, and predefined equipment checks according to instructions and checklists.
• Perform daily inspections and equipment rounds.
• Support Shift Maintenance Engineers and Senior Maintenance Technicians.
• Document maintenance activities, observations, and inspection results in the Equipment Log system.
• Maintain spare parts inventory, including stock counts.
• Collaborate with internal functions within Operations, including Process Engineering, Maintenance, Procurement, Supply Chain, and Wafer Process.
• Participate in shift work in a 24/7 operation and work regularly in the wafer fab cleanroom and service areas.

About You

Skills

• Practical knowledge of mechanics, electronics, vacuum systems, and basic testing.
• Ability to work independently and follow established procedures.
• Good collaboration skills and ability to work across different functions.
• Hands-on, structured, and safety-oriented working approach.
• Ability to work with chemicals and required personal protective equipment, including gas masks, during certain maintenance activities.
• Swedish language: Advanced level in speaking, reading, and writing.
• English language: Advanced level in speaking, reading, and writing.

Education & Experience

• Upper secondary school education, preferably with a technical or electronics focus, or equivalent experience.
• Previous experience from manufacturing environments is required.
• Experience from cleanroom work and equipment maintenance within semiconductor manufacturing or similar industries is considered an advantage.
