Epidemic Group is seeking a Commercial Legal specialist to drive customer and partnership agreements for its Stockholm-based team. You will draft and negotiate contracts, advise sales leaders, and collaborate with Marketing and Product on AI, copyright and licensing questions.
Join a high-performing group with autonomy, strong support, and opportunities to shape templates and playbooks while working with global brands and media partners.
Founded in 2009 and headquartered in Stockholm, Epidemic Group is a global creative platform on a mission to reimagine storytelling through music, sound, video, and AI. The group comprises Epidemic Sound, the world's leading soundtracking platform; Soundly, its sound effects platform; Overtone Studios, the group's mood and functional music label; Plenty Labs, an AI-native creative platform for enterprises and creative professionals; and Blenda Labs, a next generation video entertainment company. The group is backed by EQT, Blackstone, Creandum, Atwater Capital, Alecta, AMF, and IMAS Foundation.
Epidemic Group's legal team is central to the business, focusing not only on risk but also on driving sustainable revenue. You will join the Commercial Legal team in Stockholm and report to the VP, Head of Commercial Legal.
You will work broadly across commercial law, with a particular focus on running strategic customer and partnership deals with global brands and media companies, from first draft to signature. You will also work closely with Marketing and Product across the group, often on questions where the law is still being written, such as AI, copyright and music licensing.
Commercial Legal works side by side with the group's other legal teams, so you will be part of a high-performing team that gives you autonomy, trust and support, and learn from experts in a range of other fields.
Partner with the Enterprise Sales teams to draft, review and negotiate customer agreements, from standard deals to complex, strategic ones, and get them signed.
Advise sales leaders, giving clear, pragmatic answers on what can be agreed and where the line is.
Find workable solutions to new legal questions where there is no precedent.
Support Marketing and Product with legal questions and agreements, from campaigns and partnerships to new launches.
Share knowledge with the team and stakeholders, and work with external counsel where needed.
Use legal tech and AI tools to deliver high-quality, consistent legal work at the pace the business needs.
Shape the playbooks, templates and processes that help the legal team scale.
A Master of Laws (LL.M.) or an equivalent law degree.
3+ years of experience in drafting and negotiating commercial agreements, from a law firm or an in-house legal team.
A commercial, business-oriented approach to legal advice, with the judgement to know which risks matter.
Strong analytical skills: you can break down complex, unfamiliar questions and land a clear, reasoned position.
Precise and thorough in your drafting, with high standards for the quality of your work.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, and the confidence to hold a position with senior commercial colleagues.
Curious about AI and legal tech, and how they can improve legal work.
Fluent in English, written and spoken.
It would also be music to our ears if you have experience from a SaaS or technology company, or with intellectual property licensing or product compliance.
