Job summary

Dover Imaging & Identification (DII) in Göteborg, Sweden, seeks a Principal Embedded Software Engineer to own the architecture and implementation of controller software in C++ and Go for embedded Linux boards in our printers and systems.

You will collaborate across disciplines, influence technology choices, lead design reviews, mentor engineers, and contribute to continuous improvement of CI/CD practices while delivering high-quality, robust software in a global product environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with software development experience.
• Expert in portable, cross-platform C++ and Go.
• Passion for embedded development and teamwork.
• Proven record delivering high-quality embedded software.
• Experience with Linux and Windows host environments.
• Strong leadership and cross-functional collaboration.
• Experience with RTOS concepts.
• Knowledge of tests: TDD, unit testing, code reviews.
• Knowledge of system architecture and design patterns.

Responsibilities

• Develop controller software in C++ and Go for embedded Linux.
• Interface with other engineering disciplines and stakeholders to understand requirements.
• Influence technology selection and major customer decisions.
• Lead high-level software estimation for planning.
• Mentor and teach other software engineers.
• Lead design reviews and drive code quality improvements.
• Drive CI/CD improvements and stay current with tools and practices.
• Collaborate with team to achieve goals.
• Test and fault find code you or others wrote.
