Job summary

Hykmann Global Business Solutions AB in Gothenburg, Sweden is seeking an Electronics Hardware Responsible to take end-to-end ownership of automotive ECUs and powertrain hardware.

You will lead hardware development from concept through industrialization and series production, ensure compliance with automotive standards, and collaborate with software, system architects, suppliers, and functional safety teams to deliver robust hardware solutions for next-generation powertrains.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Several years of electronics hardware development experience in automotive.
• Experience taking automotive ECUs from development through industrialization and production.
• Strong knowledge of ECU communication, EMC, electrical loads, interfaces, and circuit-board pin functionality.
• Understanding of HW–SW interaction, system integration, and ECU network topology.
• Experience coordinating technical activities across suppliers, customers, and internal teams.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to take ownership of technical decisions and drive hardware challenges to resolution.
• Experience from a major international automotive OEM or automotive technology organization.
• Background in engine control systems, inverter electronics, or electrified powertrains.
• Experience with cross-functional teams covering embedded software, system architecture, functional safety, cybersecurity, and EMC.
• Experience with hardware supplier management, product validation, and industrialization processes.

Responsibilities

• Own the hardware design and lifecycle management of electronic control units (ECUs).
• Lead hardware development and industrialization from concept to production.
• Ensure compliance with automotive standards, specifications, and development processes.
• Identify and resolve EMC, electrical loads, interfaces, and circuit-board pin functionality issues.
• Collaborate with software engineers and system architects for HW–SW integration.
• Define and coordinate ECU interfaces, communication requirements, and network topology.
• Work with specialists in functional safety, cybersecurity, and EMC to deliver robust solutions.
• Act as the technical lead and primary contact for suppliers, customers, and internal stakeholders.
• Manage technical issues and drive problem-solving throughout the lifecycle.
• Support product industrialization, production readiness, and ongoing hardware lifecycle activities.
