Lead Data Engineer – Vimla

Vimla is a fully digital mobile operator focusing on data‑driven services in the Swedish market.

Responsibilities

• Ache and drive technical development of the data platform – from ingestion and transformation to warehouse and consumption (Airflow, Python, Redshift, Tableau).
• Design, build and improve datapipelines and data models.
• Design and further develop AWS‑based data architecture.
• Ensure data quality, governance, lineage, testing and monitoring across the platform.
• Own integrations with marketing automation platforms (currently Adobe Campaign) end‑to‑end.
• Drive CI/CD, automation and best practices for the data domain.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally with product, engineering and commercial teams.
• Coach and mentor the Data Engineer team.
• Provide clear technical leadership and drive work through others, without personal management responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Strong curiosity, structured and proactive; deep technical competence with ability to switch between big picture and detail.
• Extensive experience in data modelling, data warehousing and pipeline development in a modern data stack.
• Proficient with Python, SQL, Airflow and an understanding of cloud‑based data solutions.
• Capability to make technical decisions and steer architecture in complex environments over time.
• Several years of experience in data engineering or a related role in a digital environment.
• Fluent oral and written Swedish communication.
• Optional: experience in telecom or subscription business, university degree in computer science, mathematics, physics or a quantitative field, experience with BI tools such as Tableau.
