Job description

About Fuels Capital

Fuels Capital is a Nordic private credit firm providing structured, asset-backed financing to entrepreneurs and privately held companies across Northern and Western Europe. We focus on fundamentally sound businesses, unlocking liquidity from illiquid asset bases and ownership structures to enable acquisitions, growth, and shareholder liquidity – always with a strong emphasis on downside protection.

Our strategy centres on senior secured and secured subordinated lending, typically backed by real estate, financial assets, or other hard collateral. We invest across two segments: (1) Growth – entrepreneurial capital for SMEs; and (2) Corporate – structured lending within the lower mid‑market, with ticket sizes of EUR 5–25 million.

Founded in 2025, Fuels is already profitable and on a strong growth trajectory. Joining us means being part of an ambitious, entrepreneurial team building a distinctive European credit platform.

About the role

As Investment Manager and Investment Director at Fuels, you will own transactions end‑to‑end – from sourcing through structuring to closing and portfolio management. You will lead deals across our client universe of entrepreneurs, investors, business owners and corporates, with ticket sizes up to EUR 25m. You will play a particularly important role as Fuels expands its operations, where you will help shape our approach, capabilities and franchise. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Originating transactions and managing a network of entrepreneurs, owners, family offices, corporates, debt advisors, M&A advisors and banks
  • Leading credit assessment and underwriting on bespoke financings secured by unlisted shares, fund and partnership interests, real estate and other illiquid collateral
  • Structuring and negotiating financing solutions – term sheets, security packages, covenants and pricing
  • Driving documentation and closing alongside internal and external counsel
  • Presenting and defending investment recommendations to the Investment Committee
  • Owning portfolio relationships post‑close and identifying follow‑on opportunities
  • Coaching more junior investment professionals as the team grows
About you

We are looking for an experienced, commercially driven investment professional ready to take real ownership of deals and clients. You likely have:

  • 5–10+ years of relevant experience from investment banking, private credit, leveraged finance, direct lending, structured finance, private equity or a comparable credit seat
  • A track record of executing transactions end‑to‑end – sourcing, underwriting, structuring, negotiating and closing
  • Strong credit judgement and a deep understanding of secured and structured lending
  • Established relationships across the European financing ecosystem; existing dialogue with corporate borrowers is a strong plus
  • A degree from a leading university in finance, economics, engineering or a related quantitative field
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Fluent in English and Swedish (other European languages is not mandatory, but advantageous)
  • Entrepreneurial, hands‑on, comfortable taking initiatives in a fast‑paced environment
What we offer
  • Be part of a fast-growing company backed by a licensed financial group
  • Entrepreneurial, high‑trust culture with significant responsibility, exposure and incentive
  • Beautiful office in central Stockholm
  • Strong opportunities for professional growth and development
