Primrock, a Nordic energy scale-up based in Stockholm, seeks a Group CFO & Head of Capital to lead equity, SPV debt and secured bonds financing aiming for a public listing in 2027.
You will pitch investors, structure transactions, drive due diligence and close deals, reporting to the founder/CEO. The role combines strategic finance leadership with founder-driven ownership and a demanding, office-based environment. The position offers meaningful ownership and competitive compensation.
Primrock | Stockholm, Sweden | Full-time, office-based
Primrock, a pioneering Nordic energy scale-up based in Stockholm, intends to raise SEK 600–1,000 million in additional external financing over the coming 18 months and complete a Nasdaq First North Growth Market listing during 2027.
We are looking for an exceptional Group CFO & Head of Capital to help us deliver this agenda.
This is not a conventional CFO role. We need a commercially driven financing leader who can sell the investment case, challenge financial-market convention, negotiate hard and close transactions—while thriving in a clearly founder-led organisation.
The mission: Raise equity, SPV and secured bond financing—and prepare Primrock for a public listing.
The role: Become the founder and CEO’s principal financing partner: pitch, structure, negotiate and close.
The mindset: Challenge convention and turn resistance into transactions.
The operating model: Strong influence, clear authority and no co-CEO structure.
The standard: Challenge privately. Decide clearly. Execute with full commitment.
The attitude: The discipline, competitiveness and resilience of an elite individual athlete.
The offer: Competitive compensation, meaningful ownership and the chance to build a significant company.
The warning: Office-based—not a reporting-led CFO role, a hybrid position or a comfortable executive assignment.
Primrock develops, owns and operates energy infrastructure and technology that provide flexibility, capacity and resilience to the electricity system.
Our activities include battery energy storage, ancillary services, distributed capacity for large-scale e-mobility, power-quality services and energy-market optimisation. Primrock combines technical expertise, physical infrastructure, market access and financing to build a significant Nordic energy platform.
Over the coming 18 months, Primrock intends to raise approximately SEK 600–1,000 million.
The agenda includes a private placement in Primrock Holding during the autumn of 2026; SPV financing for our Capacity-as-a-Service and Quality-as-a-Service businesses; further financing of Primrock Power’s battery energy storage portfolio within its secured bond framework, including a planned SEK 300 million tap issue; and a listing of Primrock’s shares on Nasdaq First North Growth Market during 2027.
You will lead Primrock’s capital strategy and work directly with the founder and CEO.
You will personally pitch investors, structure and negotiate transactions, lead due diligence and drive processes through closing. You must understand Primrock’s businesses and asset economics, translate them into compelling investment propositions and create conviction among equity investors, lenders and bond investors.
You will not merely coordinate advisers. You will own outcomes.
You will lead financing across equity, SPV debt, secured bonds and public markets; build direct relationships with investors, lenders and other capital providers; develop and present Primrock’s equity and credit cases; and negotiate valuation, governance, covenants, security and other key terms.
You will also lead due diligence, advisers, data rooms and closing; prepare Primrock for a public listing; help build the required financing team, reporting and controls; and support the CEO and board with rigorous judgement and clear recommendations.
Primrock is founder-controlled. The founder and CEO sets the strategic direction and retains final decision authority, subject to the responsibilities of the board and applicable law.
This is not a collective or co-CEO structure.
The CFO must nevertheless be intellectually independent, candid and strong enough to challenge the CEO directly before important decisions are made.
Challenge privately. Decide clearly. Execute with full commitment.
The right candidate will exercise substantial influence without requiring equal authority. You will provide uncomfortable truths and improve decisions—without internal politics, passive resistance or attempts to manage the founder through others. Once a lawful decision has been taken, you will execute it with discipline and loyalty.
Primrock does not assume that established financial-market conventions are always efficient or appropriate.
We want a CFO who understands market practice but is not intellectually subordinate to it.
Your role is not simply to report what investors, banks or advisers expect. It is to distinguish genuine constraints from convention, structure and evidence sound but unconventional propositions, identify the right investors and turn resistance into executable transactions.
We want analysis, alternatives and action—not merely the statement that “the market will not accept it.”
We are looking for someone who approaches their profession with the mindset of an elite individual athlete.
You are ambitious, competitive and genuinely want to win. You prepare thoroughly, accept direct feedback and keep improving when others become satisfied.
When a financing reaches a decisive stage, we expect full commitment, personal ownership and the stamina to stay with the process until the objective is achieved. This is not about glorifying long hours or permanent pressure. It is about making an exceptional effort when the stakes are highest.
You may currently be a CFO, Deputy CFO, Head of Capital, Investment Director, Investment Principal, Corporate Finance Director, Project Finance Director, Head of Investments or similar.
You must have held personal responsibility for substantial completed financing transactions and have direct experience pitching investors, lenders or credit committees.
You must demonstrate strong negotiation, financial-modelling and closing capability; experience leading demanding due-diligence and transaction processes; high intellectual capacity, integrity, ownership and execution discipline; and comfort working directly with a demanding founder and controlling shareholder.
Professional fluency in both Swedish and English is an absolute requirement.
Experience in energy, infrastructure, asset-backed finance, secured bonds and public listings is relevant, but intelligence, character and transaction capability matter more than a perfectly conventional résumé.
You may be particularly well suited if you have completed a financing others considered difficult, prefer owning transactions to advising from a distance, combine commercial aggression with analytical discipline and see founder control as part of the mandate rather than a problem to be corrected.
This role is probably not for you if your main professional interest is financial reporting or administration; you prefer consensus-driven decision-making; you believe the CFO should become an equal or alternative centre of strategic authority; or you rely mainly on advisers rather than engaging investors personally.
It is also unlikely to suit you if you regard established market practice as the answer rather than an input; want to “professionalise” or moderate the founder; are uncomfortable with direct feedback, high expectations or transaction-level intensity; want an executive title without the commitment required during critical transactions; or prefer hybrid or remote work.
Primrock offers a central role in building a Nordic energy‑infrastructure platform, with direct access to the founder, CEO and board and personal responsibility for significant equity and debt transactions.
The mandate provides exposure to private equity, SPV financing, secured bonds and public markets, together with the opportunity to design financing structures and build a high-performance team.
We offer a competitive compensation package, including fixed salary, performance‑related compensation and meaningful long‑term ownership for the right candidate.
We want the successful candidate to think and act as a long‑term owner.
The position is based at Primrock’s headquarters in Stockholm’s Royal National City Park, Sweden.
This is a full‑time, office‑based role. It is not a hybrid position.
