Job summary

IonQ is seeking a Staff Quantum Applications Scientist - Life Sciences to join a cross-functional team delivering the world’s best quantum solutions in life sciences. The role is based in Gothenburg, Sweden or Toronto, Canada, with onsite or hybrid work and travel to clients.

You will shape hybrid quantum applications using Python and SDKs such as Qiskit, PennyLane, and Cirq. Qualifications include a PhD in life sciences or equivalent, 3+ years in computational tools for bioinformatics, and 3+

Qualifications

• Doctorate or equivalent in life sciences or related field.
• 3+ years developing computational/ML tools in bioinformatics or life sciences.
• 3+ years developing quantum computing algorithms in life sciences; Python and SDKs required.

Responsibilities

• Originate and lead development of hybrid quantum applications in life sciences.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to optimize workflows for trapped-ion quantum computers.
• Develop and communicate algorithmic approaches and results to stakeholders.
• Lead client interactions to define problems and deliver solutions.
• Build reusable software platforms and integrate quantum algorithms into end-to-end workflows.
