Role Summary

As a hardware engineer in TRATON Group R&D, you are a vital part in providing premium products, services and solutions to TRATON's customers, partners, employees and many more kinds of stakeholders. It is your responsibility to work closely with both internal and external stakeholders, to build and design hardware that is of high quality and performance, thus contributing to the holistic premium experience of TRATON's brands.

Job Responsibilities
  • Design and develop low-voltage electronic hardware for automotive testing applications (Hardware in the loop systems).
  • Create and review schematics, PCB layouts, and cabling designs.
  • Work with CAN communication protocols to ensure seamless integration of automotive systems.
  • Collaborate with software and mechanical engineering teams to ensure system compatibility and performance.
  • Conduct testing, validation, and troubleshooting of hardware components.
  • Prepare technical documentation, including design specifications and test reports.
  • Provide support for prototype development and production implementation.
Who You Are

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field.
  • Experience in Hardware in the loop systems.
  • Proven experience in hardware design, especially in the automotive sector.
  • Strong understanding of low-voltage electronics and cabling design.
  • Hands-on experience with CAN communication and relevant tools.
  • Proficiency in circuit design, PCB layout, and hardware validation.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and automotive compliance requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with ETAS and dSpace tools for hardware-in-the-loop (HiL) and system validation.
  • Knowledge of Eplan for electrical design and documentation.
  • Understanding of EMI/EMC considerations in automotive hardware development.
