Job summary

Klarna is seeking a Screening Adjudication Expert to own end-to-end sanctions, PEP and adverse media screening. You will oversee vendor performance, conduct high-risk investigations, and escalate sensitive cases as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of hands-on sanctions, PEP or adverse media investigations in fintech/banking.
• Broad knowledge of EU, UN, and UK sanctions regimes and AML/CTF requirements.
• Ability to lead or contribute to process improvements with a track record of change.
• Familiarity with screening tools and name-matching methodologies; strong documentation.

Responsibilities

• Own the operational health of sanctions, PEP, and adverse media screening processes.
• Act as the single point of contact for vendor performance and internal escalations.
• Conduct alert reviews, high-risk investigations, and adverse media assessments as needed.
• Review vendor output, challenge decisions, and escalate sensitive cases appropriately.
• Identify friction points and implement improvements with Product and Tech teams, leveraging AI.
• Maintain up-to-date SOPs reflecting regulatory requirements and internal standards.
• Track screening performance against SLA targets and flag risks.
• Stay current on EU/UN/UK regimes and regulatory developments; feed changes to processes.
• Onboard and train new team members across all three disciplines.
