Job summary

IDOM Consulting, Engineering, Architecture is seeking a BIM Manager to lead BIM governance for a major international steel project in Sweden. You will coordinate internal and external BIM teams, define BIM strategy, and report to Engineering leadership. This role emphasizes leadership over day-to-day modelling and requires strong English and a proactive, autonomous mindset.

Based in Madrid or Bilbao? The team operates in a multinational environment with opportunities to engage across borders.

Qualifications

• Engineering or Architecture degree required.
• 6–10 years BIM experience in leadership roles.
• Strong management and coordination skills.
• Experience on international projects with multiple stakeholders.
• Excellent communication and leadership of multidisciplinary meetings.
• Autonomy, proactivity, and decisive decision-making.
• Solid BIM technical foundation; oversee tools and processes.
• Knowledge of IFC open formats and best coordination practices.
• Navisworks Manage experience for model federation, clashes, and reporting.
• BIM interoperability experience and ACC proficiency.
• Experience in BIM reporting and dashboards for PM.
• Familiarity with AVEVA Global (desirable).
• Advanced English proficiency.
• Eagerness to learn in an international company.

Responsibilities

• Define and lead the project's BIM strategy across its lifecycle.
• Exercise BIM governance to ensure standards, deadlines, and quality.
• Coordinate internal and external BIM teams and inter-discipline interfaces.
• Manage interfaces between disciplines and companies; identify risks.
• Oversee BIM progress, issues, clashes from a global project perspective.
• Serve as main BIM contact for the client with technical judgement.
• Lead reporting, KPIs, and BIM dashboards for decision-making.
• Promote BIM best practices and a culture of collaboration.
• Ensure proper use of CDEs; avoid day-to-day operational modeling.
