Hitachi Energy in Sweden seeks a manager and experienced Application Engineer for Power Conversion, Power Quality, and Grid Connection to lead a global team and shape reliable power systems. You will guide customers, shape technical strategies, and drive pre‑tender activities across GPQSS.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics or similar.
• Experience in application engineering, business development or lead engineering in Power Conversion / Power Quality / Grid Connection; HVDC Offshore Wind a plus.
• Experience in guiding teams, coordinating complex projects, and fostering a high-performance culture.
• Understanding of grid codes and GPQSS portfolio impact on grid stability and reliability.
• Technical expertise in Grid and Power Quality Solutions with tools such as PSSE, PSCAD, RTDS, MATLAB.
• Proven experience engaging customers and developing long-term partnerships.
• Excellent communicator in diverse, cross-cultural environments; strong technical and commercial perspective.
• Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.
• Willingness to travel internationally (up to 20%).

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a global team of Application Engineers across regions.
• Coordinate and plan business development and pre-tender activities for GPQSS.
• Engage early with customers to understand needs and opportunities.
• Shape optimized, cost-effective solutions across Power Conversion, Power Quality, and Grid Connection.
• Represent Engineering in cross-functional teams for alignment.
• Build long-term relationships to support market growth.
• Guide teams through complex technical inputs in the sales cycle.
• Manage risks, issues and changes with clear communication.
• Drive strategy, innovation, and process improvements across the virtual team.
• Promote GPQSS offerings and new technical solutions.
• Ensure all solutions follow safety and quality standards.
