Job summary

Hykmann Global Business Solutions AB is seeking a Software Engineer to join an innovative team developing applications and tools for large-scale geospatial data platforms and location-based services used worldwide.

You will work on data-processing solutions within a sophisticated geospatial technology environment, handling massive datasets and designing scalable solutions from concept to implementation. Strong ownership and English communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Strong programming, system design, and problem-solving skills.
• Professional software development experience with Scala, Java, C++, or a comparable language.
• Professional experience with distributed data-processing technologies such as Spark or Flink.
• Ability to independently understand requirements, identify priorities, and drive work forward.
• Strong ownership mindset and practical approach to solving complex problems.
• Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Experience collaborating across multiple engineering teams.
• Experience in data engineering within large-scale, complex data environments.
• Experience designing and implementing APIs and REST services.

Responsibilities

• Identify and analyse requirements for new features and improvements.
• Propose scalable software designs and appropriate technical solutions.
• Develop and implement features using suitable programming languages and technologies.
• Build applications and tools for processing and managing large-scale geospatial datasets.
• Take end-to-end ownership of features and ensure alignment with business needs.
• Prioritise work, identify dependencies, and progress with limited guidance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to deliver reliable software solutions.
• Contribute to technical discussions, design decisions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
