Job summary

Basta is seeking a General Manager to lead a busy restaurant, cultivate a strong culture, and deliver exceptional guest experiences daily.

You will build and coach a front-of-house and management team, drive sales and profitability, ensure health and safety standards, and partner closely with the kitchen. This hands-on role requires visible leadership and clear communication.

The role

As General Manager, you will be responsible for building a strong restaurant culture, delivering great guest experiences, and leading the restaurant to perform at its best every day. This is a hands‑on leadership role for someone who enjoys being close to the team, close to the guests, and fully involved in the operation.

What you will be doing:

• Has previous experience as a General Manager, Restaurant Manager or senior hospitality leader.
• Has experience leading busy, high-volume restaurant operations.
• Is confident managing people, performance, sales and costs.
• Leads from the floor and enjoys being visible with both guests and the team.
• Communicates clearly and creates a positive, accountable team culture.
• Is organised, calm under pressure and able to make good decisions during service.
• Is excited by the opportunity to open a new restaurant and build something from day one.
