Job summary

Sulzer is seeking a Field Service Engineer for Heavy Industrial Gas Turbines within the Sulzer Turbo Services team. The role involves supporting maintenance, troubleshooting, and commissioning across customer facilities, leveraging knowledge of Siemens, Ansaldo, and Alstom gas turbines.

You will guide field teams, review technical documentation, and drive improvements in field service processes, with opportunities for global travel.

Qualifications

Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent work experience.
Strong knowledge of Gas Turbines and auxiliary systems.
Experience in troubleshooting, maintenance planning and root-cause analysis.
Excellent communication with customers and site teams; able to make sound technical decisions with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

Act as the primary technical support resource for Field Service Engineers, guiding maintenance, troubleshooting, inspections, overhauls and commissioning.
Provide technical expertise for Gas Turbine Maintenance and engineering direction during maintenance events.
Evaluate inspection findings and define repair methods, work scopes and maintenance strategies incl. risk assessments.
Review and approve service reports, drawings, and documentation to ensure quality and Sulzer standards.
Guide customers and site teams by resolving technical issues, identifying root causes, and recommending practical solutions.
Drive continuous improvement of field service processes, maintenance practices, and engineering documentation.
