Scania Nederland B.V. invites a motivated MSc student to conduct a techno-economic assessment of future Li-ion LMR and LNMO battery technology for heavy-duty electric trucks.

The project covers literature-based developments, cell and pack concepts, aging modeling, and cost estimates at multi-GWh scale. Start options are 18 January or 1 February 2027, with supervision and access to a ChatGPT Enterprise license.

Formación

• Studies: (Electro)chemistry, physics, electrical engineering
• Relevant courses on battery technology
• Bonus: Previous work on battery degradation and/or cost

Responsabilidades

• Identify and assess developments in Li-ion LMR and LNMO relevant for future BET
• Derive representative future LMR/LNMO cell concepts and matching battery pack concepts
• Assess battery degradation during BET operation using a simplified aging model
• Estimate costs for raw-material, cell-production and pack-production at multi-GWh/year scale
