Job summary

Design Consulting GmbH is seeking an experienced Exterior/Interior Lighting Studio Engineer to support the development of technically feasible automotive lighting solutions. You will work at the interface between Design and Engineering, translating design intent, technical requirements and legislation into innovative lighting concepts.

Qualifications

• Technical university degree or equivalent qualification.
• More than 10 years of automotive industry experience.
• Strong knowledge of exterior and interior lighting technologies.
• Deep understanding of lighting engineering and legal requirements.
• Excellent CATIA V5 Solid and Surface skills.
• Strong experience with Teamcenter and Jira.
• Knowledge of vehicle development, validation and manufacturing processes.
• Experience with optical software such as SPEOS, LucidShape or LightTools is preferred.
• Experience working in an automotive design studio is an advantage.
• Strong leadership, communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Represent and communicate design requirements within Engineering.
• Translate engineering and legal requirements into design possibilities.
• Develop feasible solutions for technically challenging lighting areas.
• Support exterior and interior automotive lighting concepts.
• Create lighting concepts using CATIA and optical simulation software.
• Document agreements, feasibility assessments and critical issues.
• Benchmark competitor lighting solutions.
• Support technology scouting and workshops with suppliers.
• Support the development of physical lamp prototypes.
