Job summary

Avarda is seeking a specialist to join the Core Ledger team, combining financial acumen with strong analytical skills. You will define and document business rules for interest, fees, and product configurations, and verify supplier deliveries against requirements.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in financial/analytical/audit or product roles in financial services.
• Strong understanding of interest calculation methodologies (e.g. EIR, simple, compound).
• Experience writing financial business rules and specs for systems built by others.
• Knowledge of consumer credit, BNPL, or instalment lending.
• Ability to validate complex financial specifications against delivered systems.

Responsibilities

• Define and document detailed requirements for interest calculation logic, accrual rules, and fee structures.
• Translate financial product requirements into precise supplier specifications.
• Verify and test product configuration delivered by suppliers.
• Ensure mathematical and financial correctness of calculation logic, including edge cases and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with finance, compliance, and product teams to validate supplier deliverables.
• Support audit and regulatory reporting by ensuring transparency and documentation.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies in interest calculations or fee postings with suppliers.
• Define and execute test cases for financial calculation logic, including boundary and regression tests.
• Provide hands-on internal support on questions about interest, fees, and product behaviour.
