Job summary

HARTING Technology Group is seeking an experienced Finance Controller based in Stockholm to take responsibility for finance matters across our Sweden and Norway entities. You will work closely with the Managing Director and local management, reporting to a Head of Finance UK-based.

The role combines financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and business partnering within an international finance function.

Qualifications

• Experience in controlling, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and year-end processes.
• Solid understanding of Swedish accounting and financial requirements.
• Experience with Norwegian finance would be an advantage.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Proficient Excel and ERP/financial reporting systems.

Responsibilities

• Take responsibility for financial controlling activities for Sweden and Norway with occasional support for Denmark and Finland.
• Prepare and analyse monthly financial results, identifying and explaining key variances.
• Support management with clear and relevant financial information to aid decision-making.
• Prepare forecasts and monitor performance against budget and forecast throughout the year.
• Coordinate the annual budgeting process and liaise with auditors and external finance partners.

We are looking for an experienced and commercially minded Finance Controller to take responsibility for Finance matters across our businesses in Sweden and Norway, with approximately 20 employees across the 2 companies.

Based in Stockholm, you will work closely with the Managing Director and local management, while reporting to a Head of Finance Business Partnering based in the UK.

This is a broad, hands-on role combining financial reporting and control with budgeting, forecasting and business partnering. It would suit someone who enjoys working independently within a smaller organisation whilst also being part of a wider international finance function.

Key Responsibilities

• Take responsibility for financial controlling activities for the Swedish and Norwegian businesses with occasional support for Denmark and Finland
• Prepare and analyse monthly financial results, identifying and explaining key variances
• Support management with clear and relevant financial information to aid business decision-making
• Prepare forecasts and monitor performance against budget and forecast throughout the year
• Coordinate the annual budgeting process
• Carry out month-end and year-end processes
• Prepare year-end accounts and liaise with relevant stakeholders
• Provide financial insight and challenge where appropriate
• Provide accurate and timely information for Group reporting
• Collaborate with colleagues across the Nordic region
• Monitor costs, profitability and financial performance and highlight areas requiring management attention
• Ensure compliance with appropriate financial controls, group policies and local requirements
• Liaise with auditors, advisers and other external finance partners where required
• Identify opportunities to improve financial processes

About you

• Strong experience of controlling, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and year-end processes
• A good understanding of Swedish accounting and financial requirements
• Experience of Norwegian finance or accounting would be an advantage, although this could be developed in the role
• Strong analytical skills
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of financial activities
• Strong Excel skills and experience with ERP and financial reporting systems
