Job summary

Klarna Bank AB is a Swedish‑licensed bank. We are seeking an experienced Compliance Manager to lead EU regulatory activities across debt collection, third‑party and outsourcing oversight, and payment services regulation.

You will collaborate with operational teams and senior stakeholders to translate rules into practical, compliant processes. You will design controls, track regulatory changes, and provide guidance on new products and partnerships.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years in compliance, risk management, internal audit, or control functions.
• Experience with EU consumer debt collection requirements and third‑party risk/outsourcing.
• Knowledge of PSD2 and developments around PSD3 and Payment Services Regulation.
• Fluent English; ability to translate legal concepts into operational practice.
• Strong project management across functions and ability to handle multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee debt collection practices, including management of customers in financial difficulty and outsourced collection activities.
• Review third‑party and outsourcing arrangements for compliance against EBA guidelines and national requirements.
• Monitor payment services rules, translate requirements into internal standards and controls.
• Design and analyze compliance metrics to identify trends, risks, and potential breaches.
• Serve as the primary link between Compliance and operations, providing actionable guidance.
• Advise on new products and partnerships from a regulatory perspective, including product approvals.
• Support regulatory interactions, examinations, and audits with documented evidence and messaging.
• Develop and deliver compliance training reflecting current regulatory developments.
• Maintain records of compliance activities for examinations and audits.
• Prepare reports for senior management and board highlighting issues and risks.
