Job summary

Hitachi Energy in Piteå invites an Environmental Specialist to join the Composites team. The role focuses on compliance with Environmental Code, internal policies, and ISO 14001, developing initiatives for sustainability and reporting progress.

You will coordinate environmental data, support chemical management, and coach managers on environmental matters, working in a diverse team with both Swedish and English language requirements.

Qualifications

• University education in environmental studies or equivalent knowledge.
• Experience with environmental compliance, ISO standards, sustainability, hazardous waste, and chemicals.
• Experience driving and coordinating processes related to environmental matters.
• Good understanding of incident management, risk assessments, and regulatory compliance.
• Ability to coach, train, and support managers and employees in environmental matters.
• Fluency in Swedish and English, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Monitor environmental permits and activities to ensure compliance with Environmental Code and regulations.
• Act as the company’s point of contact with authorities, municipalities, and external stakeholders on environmental matters.
• Drive and coordinate reporting of environmental data, KPIs, and mandatory reports to systems and authorities.
• Lead and support chemical management, risk assessments, and compliance with internal requirements and legislation.
• Develop and improve ISO 14001 aligned environmental management system.
• Drive improvement in waste management, resource efficiency, emission reductions and sustainable production.
• Train and coach managers and employees in environmental requirements and risks.
