Job Description

Are you ready to lead a skilled engineering team working at the heart of heavy lifting technology? We are looking for an Engineering Manager, Drivetrain, Function & Driver Environment to lead a high-performing team focused on Lift Truck’s mobility, power, hydraulic functions as well as ergonomics and driver comfort. The team’s nature is very much about system integration and installations of hoses, cables and auxiliary equipment.

In this role, you will combine technical leadership with people management, resource planning and cross-functional collaboration. Your team will work with both customer-specific Engineering-to-Order solutions and strategic R&D projects for next-generation drivetrain/hydraulics/operator environment solutions.

Your key responsibilities
  • Lead and develop a multidisciplinary team of system integrator and design engineers.
  • Manage resources, balancing short-term Engineering-to-Order work and longer-term R&D projects.
  • Manage budget, cost estimates, and financial follow-ups for your team.
  • Ensure engineering deliveries meet agreed technical scope, quality requirements and timelines.
  • Develop and quality-assure engineering methods and tools in line with safety and regulatory requirements.
  • Mitigate technical risks and ensure functional machine safety and system compliance within your area.
  • Work closely with Supply, Service, Product Support and other stakeholders to ensure efficient engineering support.
  • Drive knowledge sharing, continuous improvement and competence development in line with future product and technology roadmaps.
  • Work environment responsibility.
Qualifications
What should you bring?

As a person, you take an analytical and fact-based approach, communicate clearly, and can combine a broad strategic view with attention to detail. You enjoy working in a cooperative, cross-functional environment and have a curious, can-do mindset.

To succeed in this position, you also have:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automotive Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in people management, such as an Engineering Manager, Team Leader, or Technical Project Manager.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical design, specifically for heavy equipment, material handling, lifting applications, or automotive industries. Mobile equipment experience is a plus.
  • Proficiency with modern CAD software, PLM systems, and risk-mitigation tools like FMEA.
  • Extensive experience with physical architecture, packaging, and the installation of hoses, cables, and auxiliary equipment.
  • Solid understanding of drivetrain systems, fluid power/hydraulic systems, vehicle ergonomics, and driver environment layout.
  • Practical knowledge of functional safety, machine safety standards (e.g., ISO 13849, ISO 26262), and automotive regulatory compliance, is appreciated.
  • Fluency in spoken and written English; fluent Swedish is a strong advantage.
