Axis Communications in Lund seeks an Engineering Manager – Tech Test to lead the Tech Test team and ensure quality remains central to Axis products. You will work with QA managers across Axis, guiding the group and shaping testing strategies in a global context.
The role reports to the Director of Video Product Test within Quality Assurance and involves on-site leadership, collaboration across R&D, and growing a high-performing team.
Qualifications
- A technical MSc or BSc degree or equivalent.
- Experience in technical leadership roles, with a track record of leading and developing people.
- Relevant test experience from previous assignments.
- Fluent in English and Swedish, both spoken and written.
Responsibilities
- Lead the team of 11 test engineers in their daily activities, ensuring everyone can contribute at their best and receive support.
- Run day-to-day operations with the right strategy, competence, test processes and tools.
- Collaborate with counterparts across the R&D organization and stay aligned with project plans and resource needs.
- Develop your team, balancing company needs with individual development.
- Handle salary setting, budgeting and recruitment.

The Tech Test team is part of the Video Product Test department within our Quality Assurance organization. Axis Quality Assurance organization currently employs more than 300 test engineers, making us one of the largest QA organizations in the region.
Together, the team supports the Technologies organization within Axis R&D — the organization responsible for developing the platforms and functionalities used in Axis products.
In other words: the technology the team tests end up in products used all over the world. Without solid testing and a genuine commitment to quality, we would not continue to be the world leader in network video. That is exactly why this team, and your leadership of it, matters.
As Engineering Manager, you will lead the Tech Test team — both the individuals in it and the operation as a whole. You will also work closely with other QA teams and QA managers across Axis to share knowledge, coordinate efforts, and develop our ways of working.
You will report to the Director of Video Product Test within the Quality Assurance department.
- Lead the team of 11 test engineers in their daily activities, making sure everyone can contribute at their best and get the support they need
- Run the day-to-day operations, ensuring we have the right strategy, competence, test processes and tools in place
- Collaborate closely with your counterparts across the R&D organization, staying up to date with project plans and resource needs for new projects and technologies
- Develop your team and its members — balancing the needs of the company with the needs of every individual
- Handle standard management responsibilities such as salary setting, budgeting and recruitment

- A technical M.Sc. or B.Sc. degree or equivalent
- Experience from technical leading roles, with a proven track record of leading and developing people and coaching them to discover their full potential
- Relevant test experience from previous assignments
- Fluency in English and Swedish, both spoken and written
- Experience working with embedded products combining hardware and software
- Experience or strong interest in AI and how it can be used as a tool in testing activities
Practical details: This is a full-time, permanent position based on-site at our Lund headquarters. Travel is limited.
