Job description

Location: Västerås

Do you want to be part of driving the development of future transport systems? We are now looking for a Program Development Manager to take on a key role in a global organization developing advanced control and communication systems for railway vehicles. In this position, you will lead engineering development teams within the framework of a larger program. You will be responsible for the detailed planning of development activities in line with the program’s overall plan. You will collaborate daily with the program’s core team and be part of the development team located in Västerås.

The team in Västerås is responsible for both legacy control and communication products as well as for developing new solutions within input/output products, computer platforms, and HMI (Human Machine Interface). Right now, they are investing in new products with higher performance, improved cyber security, and extended functionality.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead program development activities and act as the program’s technical interface
  • Organize and continuously improve the development process using the right methods and tools
  • Manage the program baseline and its configuration items
  • Support the Program Manager in cost and planning matters
  • Validate material selection and procurement activities
  • Ensure that all activities adhere to ethical guidelines and high-quality standards
Job Requirements:
  • Master’s degree in Systems Engineering or equivalent
  • Experience leading global teams
  • Experience planning and driving agile product development processes
  • Knowledge in configuration and change management
  • Experience in developing embedded software and hardware
  • Preferably knowledge of industrial or railway safety standards (e.g., IEC61508/EN50128/EN50129)
  • Knowledge of cyber security standards is an advantage
  • Strong competencies in planning, communication, leadership, teamwork, problem solving, and initiative
  • Fluent in English (Swedish is a plus)
