- Facilitate Technical Decisions: Drive and manage complex technical design discussions across various stakeholders to their logical closure.
- Implement Best Practices: Research, design, and implement industry best practices regarding provisioning, maintaining, and monitoring cloud/hybrid/on-prem environments.
- Influence Product Strategy: Work with product management and other teams to question, provide constructive pushback when required, and ultimately establish new requirements. Play a lead role in the prioritization, design, and implementation of features to deliver on the broader vision for our platforms.
- Strategic Planning & Reporting: Scope and author plans for complex, large features that may span across multiple teams and be delivered in multiple release cycles. Track and report project and feature status at the executive level as well as to release management.
- Backlog Management: Triage and managing both feature and defect backlogs. This includes understanding complex issues from customers and other teams, analyzing logs and diagnostic information, asking clarifying questions, and directing issues to the engineers best suited to address them.
- Embrace Service Ownership: Operate with a service ownership mindset, working in a DevOps model where the development team is responsible for all automation, versioning, quality, CI/CD, logging, monitoring, and maintenance of services being built.
- Ensure Code Quality: Oversee the writing of well-documented, highly performant, reliable, and maintainable production-grade code.
- Platform Evaluation: Evaluate the stability, compatibility, scalability, interoperability, and performance of the platform.
- Adaptability: Be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where priorities and direction may change rapidly as customer requirements and market direction evolve.
