Job summary

Coody is seeking a Senior Embedded Software Engineer in Sweden to help build and scale products with end-to-end ownership. You will design and code embedded software, create prototypes, set up testing and automation, and perform hardware debugging.

This role involves collaboration across teams on product and tech strategy. Ideal candidates will have 5+ years in firmware development, skills in Linux, and expertise in real-time systems.

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience developing firmware/embedded software in C/C++.
• Skills in Linux including Yocto/Buildroot and cross-compiling.
• Experience with device drivers, SPI, I2C, UART, CAN.
• Expertise in real-time systems and deterministic timing.
• Proficient with build/tooling and CI builds.
• Based in Sweden and eligible to work here.

Overview

Senior Embedded Software Engineer at Coody, responsible for helping build and scale new and existing products with end-to-end ownership within embedded and/or firmware. Assignments are typically 6-24 months, and you are expected to ramp up quickly and deliver value from day one. You will design and code, build prototypes, set up testing and automation, and perform debugging on hardware. You will also collaborate with teams of various sizes around product and tech strategy, engineering best practices, and contribute to a strong team spirit.

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience developing firmware/embedded software in C/C++.
• Skills in Linux (Yocto/Buildroot, cross-compiling, device tree) with preferably Linux kernel experience (drivers/modules, debugging).
• Experience with device drivers and common buses: SPI, I2C, UART, CAN.
• Expertise in real-time systems (bare-metal or RTOS): deterministic timing, interrupts, watchdogs.
• Proficient with build/tooling: CMake/Make, cross-toolchains, reproducible/CI builds.
• Based in Sweden and eligible to work in Sweden (citizenship or valid work visa, temporary or permanent residency).
• Fluent in English (spoken and written).
