Job summary

Volvo Construction Equipment Technology – Eskilstuna is seeking an Embedded Developer to design, implement, and verify real-time software for ECUs, with a focus on safety-critical development and ISO standards. You will work in an agile team, shaping the software platform and architecture, and taking ownership of technical decisions.

Qualifications

• Solid foundation in C++ programming gained through professional experience, education, or substantial technical projects.
• Understanding of software engineering principles and embedded systems, real-time constraints, and microcontrollers.
• Experience using Python for scripting, automation, testing, or software development.
• Fluency in English, both written and spoken. Swedish is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and development of embedded real-time software using Modern C++20, targeting RTOS and bare-metal environments.
• Contributing to software architecture and technical solutions, balancing performance, maintainability, and real-time constraints.
• Developing software in accordance with Functional Safety requirements, including standards such as ISO 13849 (PLd) and IEC 61508.
• Developing and maintaining a modern, deterministic build environment based on CMake.
• Ensuring software quality through static analysis, unit testing, and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing, including high test coverage requirements such as MC/DC.
