Job summary

Axis Communications is seeking a Firmware Engineer for Fixed Dome Cameras in Lund. You will build and maintain firmware, adapt AXIS OS, and develop software across a large embedded codebase.

You’ll work with a dedicated firmware team and collaborate with image quality, electronics, mechanical design, and production test to deliver robust camera products. Ideal candidates have 5+ years in firmware/embedded software, strong Linux programming skills, C/C++, and CI/CD experience.

Qualifications

• Experience in firmware or embedded software with a strong Linux foundation.
• Proficient in C/C++ for firmware and kernel/user-space development.
• Familiarity with CI/CD, Git and build tools.
• Experience with agile methodologies in product development.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in CS/EE/related field (or equivalent).
• Familiarity with AI-powered development tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain firmware for network-connected fixed dome cameras.
• Adapt AXIS OS for new products.
• Analyze, design and implement software features for upcoming products.
• Investigate issues across the embedded system including user-space, kernel, drivers.
• Help improve embedded system performance and reliability.
• Collaborate with firmware and other product-development teams.
• Share knowledge and help plan and deliver work.
